Interim Housing Programs:
Currently, Inner Voice operates nine interim housing
programs that provide a range of supportive services for men, women,
and families. The Eddie Beard "Vet" House is listed separately under Veteran Housing and Supportive Services Programs.
Family Restoration is a 50-bed facility, and is located
on the southeast side of Chicago. Clients receive case management, housing
placement, and follow-up services that ensure stability once permanent
housing is attained.
It Takes a Village is
located on Chicago’s southwest side. The 60-bed facility provides
comprehensive case management services geared toward moving families
into permanent/more stable housing.
T.A.B. South Interim I
is located on the near west side of Chicago, and has a maximum capacity of 90 beds.
The program serves as the model for all Inner Voice family sites and is named in honor
of the mothers of Inner Voice senior staff members Adley Davis, Jr. (Thelma), Abdullah
Hassan (Alberta) and Brady Harden, Jr. (Bertha).
T.A.B. South Interim II
provides housing and supportive services to men with children, women with children,
and two-parent families. Together, the programs have a capacity of 125 beds.
Thelma’s Interim Housing Program (Thelma’s Place)
is located on the southwest side of Chicago in the Auburn-Gresham community and has a
capacity of 50 beds.
The Pioneer House provides interim housing
for 16 homeless men for up to 120 days. Participants are required to remain drug-free
and participate in employment/ training programs.
Ubuntu Community Center, also located
on the southwest side, is the newest Inner Voice residence. It has a 75-bed capacity;
and like all Inner Voice housing programs, offers clients a full array of case
management and social services.
